Trail Work Day Planned October 22nd

The Ollie and Dorothy Myers Trail Committee is a collaboration between the City of Lexington and the Lexington Park District.  It oversees maintenance and improvements to the Route 66 trail.  The trail is an asset to the community visited by Route 66 enthusiasts from all over the world.  It is also a great place to meet some friends and enjoy a walk or get some exercies.  There is approximately 2 miles of hot mix asphalt paving that makes a smooth surface on which to push a wheel chair, stroller, to ride roller blades or jog.

The Trail Committee has scheduled a work day for this Saturday, October 22nd beginning at 9:00am.  They are looking for help to fertilize the trees, pick up some trash and transplant some small trees.  If you'd like to help beautify our community, bring your work gloves and meet us at the gravel parking lot behind the Freedom gas station.  A rain date is scheduled for October 29th.  We look forward to seeing you!
