City of Lexington News

The City of Lexington Street Department and the Police Department would like to remind residents that the burn pile located on N Orange St near the sewer treatment plant is for brush/limbs only. No grass clippings, lumber, plastic, yard waste and garbage. Those things need to be set out with the normal weekly garbage pickup.

If you have large items, please contact City Hall to make arrangements for pickup. Violators who are caught will be cited.

Peacemakers, an after-school program for children in Pre-K through 6th grade, will begin Wednesday, September 16th.  The program is for children of all religious backgrounds and affiliations, as well as those with none.  The goal of the program is to teach children respect for all of God's creation-including the environment, themselves and one another.  Focus is on learning age-appropriate skills for problem solving and non-violent conflict resolution.
